Disability insurance, also referred to as disability income insurance, protects you from the loss of income you may suffer through a severe disability which prevents you from working for an extended period.

Under SuperLife you can decide:

• the level of the disability insurance benefit you will receive should you become disabled or too sick to work (“benefit level”);
• how long you have to be off work before payments begin (“waiting period”); and
• how long it is payable while you are disabled (“benefit period”).

The benefit is tax free and is fully insured by AXA New Zealand.

To take out cover you must fill out the membership form or, if you are already a member of SuperLife, you need to fill out the add disability income insurance form. If you want to change your current cover you will need to fill out the change disability income insurance form.
