The SuperLife schemes
SuperLife acts as a “gateway” for employers and individuals to access some of the best-known financial institutions in the business. Our service providers have unmatched reputations, built up over decades, for the quality and effectiveness of the solutions they deliver. SuperLife and Aventine have no financial connection with these external service suppliers and receive no commissions – we review supplier performance and replace suppliers without fear or favour. Few plans offer such independence.
The main products of SuperLife Limited are the registered superannuation scheme (AS11068) and a KiwiSaver scheme (KS10022) . In both cases the products are called SuperLife and established under trusts, separate from the business activities of SuperLife Limited and Aventine. SuperLife also includes myFutureFund – a vehicle to help parents save for their children’s future.
Each scheme is governed by a trustee, SuperLife Trustee Limited. The day-to-day administrator is Aventine Limited.
The trustee directors are appointed by SuperLife Limited, but are responsible to all members. The directors are independent and have no financial interest in the company that manages SuperLife's schemes.
The trustee oversees the schemes. It makes sure the insurance is organised, the savings and premiums are collected and that everything else happens as it should. The trustee also monitors the insurers and investment managers, to ensure that SuperLife remains competitive.
The trustee's sole job is to look after SuperLife's superannuation and KiwiSaver schemes. It does not trade or have any other business. Member savings are separate to the business of Aventine and SuperLife Limited.
